How to hire me?
1. Email me at don.coccodrillo(at)gmail.com with your translation request, specifying:
  • Type of text or translation (normal, literary, subtitles). You should also specify what is more important to you: a literal translation, or an adaptation. A literal translation will maintain the original wording as close as possible, while an adaptation will maintain context, but change the wording to ensure the result sounds "natural" in the target language.

  • Text dimensions (in words or pages.)

  • Attach the text or link me to the material you want translated. If you cannot divulge the text or material until I'm contracted, I will need a sample (at least one page of the text.)

  • Deadline: the date by which you want the material translated.
2. I will email you back giving you a quote (a price estimate) and telling you if I accept the job or not, with payment options should you choose to hire me.
3. After you deliver the first payment (50% of the price) I will begin working on your translation.
4. Upon finishing the translation I will deliver the results, and an invoice for the second payment (the second half of the accorded price.)

Payment
Payment will be done via Paypal (for jobs under $400/€275) or wire transfer for amounts over that number. I will provide you with the payment information while negotiating your order.

Terms and policies
  • My work speed is 1800-2000 words per day, depending on the material.
  • Understanding the importance of privacy and confidentiality, I will not divulge, publish or distribute the material given to me for translation, nor the resulting translation, whether partially nor totally.
  • If you need me to rush your job, that is, deliver it before the appointed deadline, let me know. I will let you know if the new deadline if possible. If so, you will pay an extra fee of 50% of the original price (I.E: if the job was worth $100, you will pay an additional 50%.) However, if the new deadline is impossible, we will rescind the contract. I will, however, keep the first payment for the work done so far.
  • There will be no refunds after I've began working on your translation.
  • You can request previews of the translation via e-mail.
